Just got them so I can’t attest to quality over time, but the first test for me is always whether I can squeeze my 20”cankles into a new pair of boots, and these babies passed.I’ve been wearing just-below-the-knees boots daily for years, with jeans and dresses. My usual boots have a 16-18” shaft height but always a 20” circumference. I’ve worn the Vestiture Alamos for years, but always blow the sole off from daily wear, as they don’t have a goodyear welt construction. Always end up buying a new pair within a year.I couldn’t find on the product specs where these feature a welted sole, and I was less than thrilled about a rubber sole, as I always figured that contributed to my early blowouts, but these have a far superior construction I can see off the bat. Hoping the uppers stick for at least a year but will update if and when these blow out.As far as shaft height, these are shorter than I prefer, hitting at mid-calf, but they’re plenty wide enough in the shaft that I could wear long johns AND overalls with them. And I’m not kidding. I do have both.Because rural AF chicken farmer. The toes are narrower than I’m used to, but I went with my usual size - 12, because I’m pretty and everything, but also part Shrek - and I’m glad I didn’t go down a size. Definitely a bit of a pinch after a few hours in the beginning, in the sides of my feet and arches, but with wear they should get nice and comfy and it shouldn’t take long.Leather is nice quality. Definitely have had some sturdier leather boots in my life but for sure had some crappy leather that can’t compare to these as well, so pleased in that department. If you large calf ladies are unsure, let me promise that a 20 inch calf or less is easily accommodated by the size 12, thanks to the deep V. No calf muffin tops, even in jeans, and if you have wide calves you know EXACTLY what I’m talking about. My legs look proportional and nice, without being so roomy as to make me look like a pirate.
